* WHAT...For the Extreme Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions
with heat index values up to 113. For the Heat Advisory, heat index
values up to 110 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, northern, and northwest Oklahoma.

* WHEN...For the Extreme Heat Warning, until 9 PM CDT this evening.
For the Heat Advisory, from noon to 9 PM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high
humidity may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Following a 56-28 victory over the ninth-ranked West Virginia Mountaineers, the Sooners moved up one spot in the new Coaches Poll to No. 7.

Oklahoma, now 9-2, continued its climb back up the poll after beginning the season 1-2. West Virginia fell to No. 17 after suffering its second loss on the season.

The Sooners' final opponent, Oklahoma State, also won in convincing fashion Saturday with a 31-6 win over TCU in Fort Worth, Texas. The win vaulted the Cowboys up to No. 10 and means that when the two schools meet on Dec. 3, in Norman, they will be playing for the Big 12 championship.

It might also mean the Big 12 could sneak into the College Football Playoff.

No. 5 Louisville lost for the second time this season on Saturday to an unranked Houston Cougars team. Houston beat Oklahoma in its season opener but had stumbled twice on the season before registering its second win over a top five team.

Washington took Louisville's place in the top five and Clemson moved back up to No. 3 in the country. 

The AP poll is expected to release later today with the new College Football Playoff rankings set to unveil Tuesday night.
