No. 1 OU women’s gymnastics (10-0-1) defeated No. 5 Florida (6-2) on Friday, 198.075-197.575

This meet marked OU’s third consecutive score above 198 and their fourth consecutive win over Florida. The Sooners took the lead in the first rotation and held it for the rest of the meet.

Here are three takeaways from Friday’s meet:

Perfect 10 for Addison Fatta

Despite being a national champion and an NCAA first-team All-American, it took sophomore Addison Fatta until Friday to grab her first career 10.0, closing out OU’s second rotation on vault. 

The score was the Sooners’ second perfect 10 of the season, with freshman Mackenzie Estep scoring one at the Metroplex Challenge on Sunday. Fatta also won the all-around title for the meet and was the only OU gymnast to compete in all four events.

Vault stepback

Despite Fatta’s perfect score, the Sooners took a slight step back on vault, with a 49.425. This marks their lowest score since the first meet of the season. 

OU entered this meet ranked No. 1 nationally on vault, with four gymnasts in the individual top 10. However, Estep and sophomore Elle Mueller both posted their lowest vault scores of the season, as multiple gymnasts struggled to stick their landings.

Although the Sooners took a step back, a 49.425 would rank among the top vault scores nationally, underscoring OU’s dominance on the event in 2026.

Beam excellence

The Sooners entered the meet as the No. 1 team in the country on beam, and they continued to raise the bar, with a season-high score of 49.700. No Sooner gymnast scored below a 9.9 on the event.

Freshman Ella Murphy led the way with a career high of 9.975, while senior Faith Torrez and junior Keira Wells each scored a 9.95. Torrez has scored 9.95 or higher on beam in six of seven meets this season, ranking her second in the country on the event.
