OU men’s basketball added its third player of the offseason in Akoldah Gak Monday.

The 6-foot-11 forward most recently played in the NBA G-League for the Capital City Go Go, the Washington Wizards affiliate, and averaged 7.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists across 33 games in the 2025-26 season.

Gak is the second player this offseason to make the transition to college after playing in the G-League or being drafted, following Texas A&M’s Bryson Warren, who most recently played for the Westchester Knicks. However, both Gak and Warren never played college basketball and are a different case from Alabama’s Charles Bediako, who returned to the collegiate stage in the 2025-26 season after being having G-League experience.

Gak joins an OU frontcourt that includes rising junior Derrion Reid, rising junior Louisville transfer Khani Rooths, redshirt freshman Finley Keeffe and rising sophomore forward/center Kai Rogers.
