Jones, a native of St Louis, Missouri who plays at Butler Community College in Kansas, is the fifth defensive lineman to commit to OU for the upcoming recruiting class. He unofficially visited Norman for the June 28th recruiting barbecue, and then officially visited for the season opener against Florida Atlantic (63-14 win).
Riley's newest commitment chose Oklahoma over offers from Texas, TCU, Oregon and Colorado. Jones hails from the same junior college as redshirt senior offensive linemen Ben Powers and Quinn Mittermeier. He is the only junior college player committed for the 2019 class.
The Sooners sit at No. 6 in Rivals' team recruiting rankings, but are tied for second with Florida State in average star rating among all teams (3.88).
