Oklahoma landed a commitment from former SMU offensive lineman Branson Hickman via the transfer portal on Sunday.

Hickman appeared in 35 games and started 33 in his three seasons with the Mustangs. He earned a Second Team All-AAC selection after starting 14 games at center in 2023.

OU center Troy Everett recently had surgery on his leg and is hopeful to return by the end of the Sooners' fall camp.

Hickman was ranked the No. 28 player in the transfer portal and top interior offensive lineman remaining in the portal by On3. The 6-foot-3, 294-pound lineman was touted as a three start recruit out of Dallas Jesuit High School.
