OU’s offensive line, seemingly the biggest position group in question after losing all five primary starters from the 2023 season, just got even thinner.
Redshirt junior Troy Everett will have surgery on his right leg on Wednesday, head coach Brent Venables announced after Tuesday’s practice.

“We hope to see him back by the end of fall camp or so,” Venables said. “If anybody can do it, he will. … We have great doctors and a great plan for him.”
Everett was seen wearing a brace on his leg during warmups ahead of Tuesday's practice after going down with the injury during practice last week.

The Appalachian State transfer appeared in nine games at left guard and center and made four starts in his first season with the Sooners. The 6-foot-3, 305-pounder was named a second-team Freshman All-American by The Athletic after appearing in 10 games, predominantly playing center, for Appalachian State in 2022.
Venables mentioned redshirt freshman Joshua Bates, freshman Josh Aisosa and redshirt senior Geirean Hatchett as linemen who could fill the void left by Everett.
