OU football: Holder Spencer Jones recovering, ‘lucky he didn’t lose the eye altogether,’ after fight at Campus Corner bar

It’s becoming more and more pathetic to see the kind of half-assed journalism coming from students of well-known schools. The clear and powerful bias in this article, while understandable, makes OU, the faculty, and the students look awful by not adhering to ethical journalistic practices. I’m not fully certain who wrote this piece, or honesty how it got past an editor with any ethical sense at all, but it should weigh heavily on their conscience as a student who is studying journalism. Anyone who watches the video in question can plainly see that these two meathead football players were feeling a bit riled up and were instigating a fight when they shouldn’t have. To make it seem as though he was trying to “de-escalate” is implying that the author considers the audience to be too stupid to comprehend the obvious. Pathetic.

I can understand why this article is so biased. You work for Oklahoma State. But the level of bias is pretty sad and pathetic. There's being a homer and then there's this. Shoddy journalism at best especially when the evidence to the truth is right in front of you. Did the guy randomly get a black eye and bloody nose while Spencer and his buddy sat there mocking him and threatening him? That's not how it works. Mr. Jones got what was coming to him. Don't start stuff you can't handle and quit trying to bully people smaller than you.

The author is clearly biased, spencer got just deserts, as a Christian I will pray for him and that this incident will make him change and be a better person. He was clearly instigating the situation and had already struck the other gentleman. Great job buddy don't let the OU elite get you down I doubt you will see any criminal charges for this considering how many people have your back.

Duuude, I was edging the entire time while I was reading this article. It only took my dog to brush against my 2-inch meat pendulum to fill my pants like a GOP pinãta. I just CANNOT get enough of authors bias! Articles like this makes me drain my nuts so hard that it turns my naval into a blackhole. That beating wasn't nearly as bad as the one given to Jones and the rest of the Sooners by LSU in the 2019 Peach Bowl.

If you had any desire to maintain credibility as an individual with journalistic integrity, you’d immediately scrap this horrendously biased piece and rewrite it without such conjecture as to make Spencer come off as the good guy here.

You’re clearly ignoring the fact that the dude mysteriously had a bloody nose before the fight began. Surely a reporter ought to realize that this video clearly does not have the initiation of this altercation on film and that this obviously starts after the first physical act took place.

Spencer Jones was clearly not the victim. His "assailant" had a bloody nose before anything happened. Did he hit himself in the face? Probably not. The video clearly shows Jones acting like he is untouchable and can act without any consequences. The only thing that happened is he learned very quickly that is not true. Jones and his friend were substantially bigger than both of the other guys in the fight and it is clear that in the video they were acting in a much more aggressive manner than the other two. This is one of the most biased articles I have ever seen. The media truly does paint the picture it wants people to see. The two OU students responsible for writing this article should be ashamed of themselves and the poor quality of their work. They will both do well working for news outlets like CNN or Fox.

This article does not tell the truth, and there is video out there. The football players on TWO occasions pushed the wrestlers here. Both of these were physical and uncalled for battery charges that started the physical fight. If these football players (especially the one who pushed the guy) didn't want to fight, they should not start physical altercations with physical contact. This is extremely dishonest reporting and Spencer Jones and his football buddy 100% started the fight. Don't start fights and don't push people, keep your hands to yourself.

Your boy was not the victim, he started the fight and wouldn't leave those guys alone. The blood on the others guys face is from your dude hitting him. He got exactly what he deserved. Maybe next time he won't pick on little guys and get his butt kicked.
