Baker Mayfield

Former OU quarterback and Heisman winner Baker Mayfield pumps up the crowd during the game against Army Sept. 22, 2018.

Former Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield has broken the NFL record for most touchdown passes by a rookie.

Mayfield, now the Cleveland Browns’ quarterback, threw a one-yard touchdown pass to break the record. It was his third touchdown pass of the game against the Ravens.

The Heisman Trophy winner has thrown 27 touchdown passes this season.

Mayfield surpassed Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson to break the record, and he didn't even start as quarterback for the Browns until NFL Week 3.
