OMAHA, Neb. — OU redshirt senior quarterback John Mateer made the trip up to Charles Schwab Field to support the Sooners’ baseball team as they take on No. 3 Georgia in the College World Series on Wednesday.

Mateer joins a long list of past and present OU athletes and coaching staff to show their support during the Sooners’ postseason run.

"It's awesome. Short trip, short notice. Couldn't say no to it," Mateer told OU's in house radio during Wednesday's contest. "Have early workouts in the morning but we're doing a great job."

Mateer also faced Sooners' freshman pitcher Nick Wesloski’s older brother, Ethan, during their high school days in Texas. Nick Wesloski is making his first career postseason start, and second overall, in the Sooners' biggest game of the season so far.

As Nick Wesloski navigates his third postseason appearance on the mound, live updates can be found here.
