Previously No. 1 OU (48-8, 20-4 SEC) is set to be the No. 3 national seed for the 2026 NCAA softball tournaments. The Sooners, a No. 1 seed in the Norman Regional, will face the Binghamton Bearcats (20-25, 15-5 America East) and, barring a win, will face one of No. 8 Kansas (35-19, 14-10 Big 12) or Michigan (34-20, 11-14 Big Ten).

Coming off an upset loss against No. 13 Georgia (38-18, 12-12 SEC) in the Southeastern Conference tournament, OU will look to bounce back in the NCAA tournament. The loss to Georgia did significant damage to the Sooners chances of being the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament, as they fell to No. 3.Â
After winning four straight national championships from 2021-2024, OU lost in last year’s Women’s College World series to the eventual runner-up Texas Tech. The Sooners will look to get back to the top of the mountain after finishing as SEC regular season champions.
