2026 3-star cornerback Derrick Johnson II committed to Oklahoma, he announced Tuesday.

Johnson is from Murrieta, California and attends Murrieta Valley High School. Johnson becomes the second player from California to commit to OU, joining 4-star receiver Daniel Odom.
He is the 607th ranked player nationally and the 57th ranked cornerback, according to the On3 industry ranking.
In OU’s 2026 class, Johnson joins 3-star safety Niko Jandreau as the only secondary players committed to the Sooners.
Following Johnson’s commitment, the Sooners rank 33rd in the country per On3 and rank 12th in the SEC in 2026 recruiting. Johnson is the second commit OU has landed in as many days.
