What They Said

Phoenix Murphy on the deciding factors that make Norman High competitive this year: “We just all trust each other honestly. We put all our faith in God.”

Ryder Murphy on the team executing well on offense from game to game: “Great O line, we have all time in the world back there. We can do anything we want. We can launch the ball deep. We can run it.”

Hartsock on giving his team a great performance with multiple touchdowns: “It felt good. (I) just couldn’t have asked for anything better … Everyone’s out here (helping).”

Ryder Murphy on his ability to make receptions over multiple defenders: “Everything in practice, you take into game. You have to work on it every single day, and once it comes game time, it’s just natural. Honestly, it’s a surreal feeling. You go up and get it, and you come down and realize you scored a touchdown … It’s just an adrenaline rush.”

Phoenix Murphy on his ability to make quick decisions: “It all starts in the film room. Just knowing what they do, if they line up a certain way, if they walk down five, they are probably going to bring five or four. Just knowing where my guys are going to be at quick, I can throw the ball off and throw hot off the blitz.”

Ryder Murphy on the connection between him and Phoenix Murphy: “Every single day, we talk. We do everything together. We grew up playing little league ball together. I played up with him. It’s just blood. Nothing can come between us.”
