The video showing Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon punching a female student in a 2014 incident is a public record and should be released, according to the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals.
Fox 25 reporter Phil Cross says the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters sued for access to the video.

The Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals ruled that the surveillance video is now a court record and should be available at the Cleveland County Clerk's office.

Joe Mixon was suspended from the OU football team for one year as a result of the incident. After using that year as a redshirt season, Mixon returned to the team in 2015. He rushed for 753 yards and seven touchdowns, helping the Sooners to the College Football Playoff.
