Senior quarterback Baker Mayfield surpassed Sam Bradford for second most career passing yards in program history.
After throwing for 386 yards against Ohio State, Mayfield was just 23 yards behind Bradford. He has thrown for 39 yards so far in today's game against Tulane, bringing him to a total of 8,419 yards all time. He passed Bradford, who had 8,403 career passing yards, on a 29-yard pass to junior tight end Mark Andrews, that was then fumbled, in the first quarter.
The senior quarterback passed Jason White to claim the number three spot in the first game of the season against UTEP when he threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns in the first half — the only half he played.
Landry Jones (16,646) is the only Sooner ahead of Mayfield, who needs 8,227 yards to pass him for first.
