Freshman OU kicker Austin Seibert is a Ray Guy Award semifinalist, the award committee announced Friday.
The Ray Guy Award committee and Augusta Sports Council named 10 semifinalists for the 2015 Ray Guy Award, which is annually given to the nation's top collegiate punter.
Seibert handles punting and place-kicking duties for the Sooners.
Seibert has served as Oklahoma's punter for all nine games. He's been asked to punt 34 times with an average of 43.5 yards per punt. His career-long is a 58-yard boot, which came against West Virginia on Oct. 3.
He's punted the ball inside the 20-yard line 14 times this season. And he's had nine punts that have gone 50 yards or longer.
The three finalists for the award will be announced on Nov. 24, and the winner will be announced at The Home Depot College Football Awards on Thursday, Dec. 10.
No Oklahoma punter has won the Ray Guy Award before. Former OU punter Jeff Ferguson was a finalist for the award in 2001, but lost to Purdue's Travis Dorsch.
