Norman North High School tight end and linebacker Ben Kolar continues to shine for the Timberwolves (2-1), as he prepares to face Edmond Memorial High School (3-0).
In a 61-24 win over Moore High School (2-1), Kolar guided the Timberwolves to recording their highest-scoring game in two years.
“I was really pleased with the complementary football the team played,” head coach Justin Jones said.“Defense gets a pick-six; offense scores on the first play of its possession.””
Kolar was a key factor with two touchdowns and multiple tackles for loss.
“They left me one-on-one, so I had to take advantage,” Kolar said.
According to Kolar, with being a two-way player, he focuses on having sharp conditioning.
“I just have to be better conditioned,” Kolar said. “It’s definitely tough playing on both sides, but I have to keep working.”
With big plays being made in all three phases of the game, Kolar’s work ethic continues to reap benefits.
“Ben is a ballplayer, and he just keeps getting better,” Jones said. “I can’t say enough good things about him. He’s one of those guys who make the coaches look good.”
Norman North opens district play vs. Edmond Memorial at 7 p.m. at the Bulldogs’ stadium.
