Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback Jalen Hurts was named the Super Bowl MVP after defeating Kansas City in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.

Hurts finished 17-22, with 221 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception, leading the Eagles to a 40-22 win.

This makes Hurts the second quarterback to play at Oklahoma and win a Super Bowl as a starting quarterback, following Troy Aikman who won in 1992, 1993 and 1996.

Hurts transferred to Oklahoma from Alabama in 2019. While he was a Sooner, he led the nation in yards per pass attempt with 11.3 and ranked sixth nationally in completion percentage with .697, landing him with the third best percentage in school history.

The Philadelphia Eagles drafted Hurts at No. 53 in the 2020 NFL Draft. He went on to lead them to Super Bowl LVII in 2023, where they lost to Kansas City 38-35.
