Oklahoma redshirt senior quarterback Dillon Gabriel was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week on Monday for his record-setting performance in the Sooners’ 59-20 win over West Virginia on Saturday.

Gabriel threw for 473 yards and five touchdowns and rushed 11 times for 50 yards and three touchdowns. He became the first player in OU history to score eight touchdowns in a game.

This is Gabriel’s third Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honor this season. OU’s quarterback has thrown for 3,069 yards and 25 touchdowns while completing 70.5% of his passes this season.

The Sooners will face BYU at 11 a.m. Saturday in Provo on ESPN.
