* WHAT...Heat index values up to 109 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, northern, northwest,
southeast, southern, southwest, and western Oklahoma and northern
Texas.

* WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Oklahoma starting left guard Cody Ford was injured on the Sooners' opening drive against No. 3 Ohio State. 

Ford, a redshirt freshman, was injured with 12:22 left in the first quarter on a play where Samaje Perine ran to the Ohio State 11 yard line for a first down.

The Pineville, Louisiana, native was taken off the field in a cart. He was sitting up in the cart. His left leg appeared to be in an air cast. 

With Ford out, center Jonathan Alvarez slid over to take Ford's place and Erick Wren took over at center.Â
