Norman events

TEDxOU, 9 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Friday: A day dedicated to discovering and spreading ideas at the University of Oklahoma. Apply to attend at tedxou.net. Tickets start around $23 for students.

Sooners vs. Kentucky men’s tennis, 5 p.m. Friday: Watch the Sooners face the Kentucky Wildcats at Headington Family Tennis Center. Tickets are free with OU ID based on availability.

Sooners vs. Santa Clara baseball, 6:30 p.m. Friday: Watch the Sooners face the Santa Clara Broncos at Kimrey Family Stadium. Tickets are available online and free with OU ID based on availability.

Menstrual Met Gala, 7 p.m. Friday: OU Women’s Health Advocacy will host their 4th annual Menstrual Met Gala at Headington Hall’s sixth floor. The event will feature a catered dinner and a panel of researchers, representatives and advocates. Tickets start at $10 online or $12 at the door.

Water Circus Metropolis, shows available Friday, Saturday and Sunday: Cirque Italia brings a performance of European-style "Aquatic Spectacular,” to the Sooner Mall. The show features a custom-designed water stage that travels from city to city with 35,000 gallons of water. Tickets can be found online starting at around $22.

Comedy in the Black Lodge with James Nghiem, 8 p.m. Friday: At the final event of the “In Dreams: David Lynch Tribute” exhibition, Uncanny Art House transforms the gallery into a dreamlike stage where absurd humor and uncanny energy collide. Tickets are $15 online and 20$ at the door at Uncanny Art House.

Company,” 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday: Stephen Sondheim’s Tony award-winning “Company” at Elsie C. Brackett Theatre features a soaring score containing many of the composer’s best-known songs. After turning 35, bachelor Robert contemplates his unmarried state over the course of a series of dinners, drinks and even a wedding. Contains suggestive dialogue, adult themes and sexual content. Tickets can be found online starting at $17. 

Cookiefest, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday: Cookiefest is a fundraising event for Loveworks Leadership that promotes local bakers, both professional and amateur. Attendees trade for cookies from various professional, amateur, and youth bakers. Kids can enjoy hands-on cookie-themed crafts at the Children’s Cookie Craft Corner. The event will be held at The Well. Entrance is free.

Maura McAndrew | Saturday Morn at the Roastery, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday: Kick off the weekend with good vibes and music by Maura McAndrew at Yellow Dog Coffee Company.

First Friday Gallery Walk, 6 to 9 p.m. Friday: Browse local artwork, meet artists and enjoy live music during the Paseo Arts District's monthly art walk. The event is free, and parking is available in the area and surrounding neighborhood.

Bingo @ the Dock, 7 to 9 p.m. Friday: Every first Friday of the month, Sailor and the Dock hosts bingo at $5 a card or three cards for $10. 

Mr. Nobody Against Putin,” 5:30 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday: This film follows Pasha, a teacher and videographer who plans a dangerous escape from Russia after discovering secrets of Putin’s regime. The film is in Russian with English subtitles at Noble Theater. Tickets start at $10 online

A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical,” 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 and 7 p.m. Sunday: A musical about Neil Diamond’s musical journey from Brooklyn to selling records and winning a grammy. This musical is showing at Civic Center Music Hall. Tickets are available online.

Churchill,” 7:30 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday: Written by British actor David Payne, this one-man show explores the legacy of Winston Churchill and shines light on his political battles in addition to his relationships with the U.S., his wife and Queen Elizabeth. Showings will be at Civic Center Musical Hall. Tickets are $75 online

OKC Blue vs. Texas Legends, noon Saturday: Basketball fans can watch Oklahoma City’s G League team take on Texas Legends at Paycom Center. Tickets are available online

OKC Thunder vs. Golden State Warriors, 7:30 p.m. Saturday: The Thunder defends their three-game winning streak against the Warriors this season at Paycom Center. Tickets are available online

It Was Just an Accident,” 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 3:45 p.m. Sunday: This Oscar-nominated film follows a group of former Iranian political prisoners who question whether to take revenge on a man they believe may have been their former tormentor. It will be screened at Noble Theater in the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, and tickets are available online

Time to Paddy 5k/10k and Lucky 13.1, 8 a.m. Sunday: The event features multiple races for athletes of all experience levels. Registration includes a T-shirt, medal, live race results, free photos and snacks at the finish line. Packet pickup begins at 6:30 a.m. and the race will be at Draper Park. Registration is available online

Over the Painbow: Roller Derby Mash Up, 2 p.m. Sunday: Skaters will compete in a double header roller derby at OKC Farmers Public Market. Doors open at 1 p.m. and admission is free for kids 12 and under. Tickets are available online.

Haydn & Mozart in Vienna, 4 p.m. Sunday: Performed at Civic Center Music Hall will be Haydn’s Keyboard Concerto in D and Mozart's Piano Sonata no. 17 and Symphony no. 40 in G minor played by Vienna-based pianist Daniel Adam Maltz. Tickets start at $17 for students online.

Stories & Specimens, 11 a.m. to noon Saturday until May 1, Norman: Families are invited to gather for an engaging program providing museum objects for children to touch, connecting stories to science and cultural history. The experience is free with admission at Sam Noble Museum of Natural History

Beehive: The ’60s Musical,” running through Saturday, Oklahoma City: Find yourself transported to the ’60s in a jukebox musical, created by Larry Gallagher, that celebrates women’s empowerment and iconic voices. The musical is held at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma. Tickets are available online

Route 66: From Trails to Truck Stops, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday until May 3, Oklahoma City: The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum’s new exhibition tells the story of the historic Route 66, which was part of the first federal highway system and became a symbol of freedom and adventure. Tickets are available online

Jakian Parks: The Black Land, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Monday until June 1, Oklahoma City: Visit artist Jakian Parks’ latest exhibition exploring the history and cultural legacy of Black equestrianism at Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center. The museum is free to attend and tickets are not required.

Sunday Jazz Brunch, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oklahoma City: Listen to live jazz at Tellers while enjoying lemon buttermilk pancakes and other brunch favorites.
