Respondus LockDown Browser is experiencing technical difficulties at startup for Mac and iPad users, according to a mass email from OU Information Technologies.

According to an incident report made this morning by OU IT Learning Spaces, Canvas New Quizzes are causing Respondus to malfunction when launching.

“Respondus is investigating an issue relating to Canvas New Quizzes that causes LockDown Browser for Mac and iPad to fail at startup,” OU IT Learning Spaces wrote.

The browser for iPad displays a blank screen after the begin quiz button is pressed and the browser for Mac displays an error code after the begin button is clicked, according to the incident report.

The technical difficulties do not affect the LockDown Browser for Windows, according to OU IT Learning Spaces. IT encourages students to use Windows temporarily.

OU Daily reached out to OU IT for comment but did not receive a response by the time of publication.
