OU Facilities Management employees remove Sigma Alpha Epsilon letters from house

Letter removal

At about 2:30 p.m. today, Norman Police Department vehicles blocked a section of College Avenue to allow OU Facilities Management to remove Sigma Alpha Epsilon's letters off their house.

Facilities Management used a lift to take down the letters. Facilities Management director Brian Ellis said that the street would be open to traffic when they finished taking down the letters.

"We are establishing control of the property," Ellis said. "Current residents are clearing out all of their personal belongings."

At midnight Tuesday residents of the house must be moved out so that Facilities Management can secure the building, Ellis said.

Ellis said that he does not know what the University plans to do with the property.

Former members of SAE waited in the parking lot of the house while they waited for Facilities Management to finish.
