Downtown Norman's Sooner Daiquiri - Bar and Grill and The Play Pit officially began collaborating Feb. 13.

The Play Pit customers can order food through Sooner Daiquiri’s app or website by scanning a QR code displayed on table tents. Sooner Daiquiri will deliver food without a delivery fee or upcharge. The Play Pit aims to provide parents and caregivers with a place to relax and work while their children play on the indoor playgrounds.

The Play Pit's customers can order food from the time Sooner Daiquiri opens at 11 a.m. until The Play Pit closes. Sooner Daiquiri will not serve alcoholic beverages to customers at The Play Pit to maintain a safe environment for families.

Julia Fehr, co-owner of The Play Pit, and her husband had dinner at Sooner Daiquiri and were immediately captivated by the quality of food. Fehr felt that Sooner Daquiris children’s menu and small bites were perfect for families at The Play Pit.

Sooner Daiquiri owner, Toddrick Noel, said he had long hoped to form a partnership with local businesses and said he was thrilled when Fehr asked if he was interested in a collaboration.

“We kind of figured we would help each other, gives us more options with our business,” Noel said. “It allows me to hopefully sell more food, and it's a win-win for both of us.”

Before the collaboration, The Play Pit only offered pizza for events and parties, but Fehr wanted customers to have more options without having to leave their children to get it. Sooner Daiquiri, which specializes in classic American food with a Cajun twist, offers its full food menu to The Play Pit customers.

Noel said that both he and Fehr hope the partnership will inspire other local businesses to collaborate.

“We're all in this together,” Fehr said. “It's hard to run a small business and we all know that, so why would we not want to do it together?”

The Play Pit has collaborated with other local businesses, including Friendly Faces Felt and Eloise’s Shop. Fehr said partnerships are important for sustaining business growth and engagement while supporting the community.

Fehr has received positive feedback so far and hopes the partnership will not only satisfy her customers but give Sooner Daiquiri exposure and continue to strengthen local businesses.

The Play Pit is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Sooner Daiquiri - Bar and Grill is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday through Saturday.
