N’Kiyla Jasmine Thomas won the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate over Jim Priest, according to unofficial results from the Associated Press.
As of 8:10 p.m., with 52% of votes counted, Thomas earned 58.5% of votes, or 37,192. Priest earned 41.4%, or 27,285 votes. Thomas will advance to face Rep. Kevin Hern in the Nov. 3 general election.
