An Andy’s Frozen Custard franchisee purchased the former Rib Crib site near Robinson Street and Interstate 35 on Sept. 6, according to the Cleveland County Assessor's Office and as first reported by Norman Development.

Ranchers Development Company, LLC, paid $800,000 for the one-acre parcel located at 1131 Rambling Oaks Drive, where Norman recently spent over $5 million to reconstruct the intersections with Crossroads Boulevard and reconfigure Robinson Street west of I-35, according to an announcement by the City of Norman.

The site is south of Waffle House and across from the Hollywood Spotlight 14 movie theater, which has not reopened since closing in October 2020 due to COVID-19.

“We have multiple units in and development rights for several territories in Oklahoma, Texas and Florida,” Ranchers Development Company CEO Eric Reed wrote, according to reporting by Norman Development.

Andy’s Frozen Custard was founded in 1986 in Osage Beach, Missouri. The company currently owns Oklahoma locations in Warr Acres, Edmond, Tulsa, Broken Arrow and Owasso. As of Aug. 31, there were at least 150 locations nationwide.

“It is our primary goal to maintain the highest level of operations for the Andy's brand," Reed wrote, according to reporting by Norman Development.
