REI will open its first location in Oklahoma in Oklahoma City near Penn Square Mall.
The store will open at Belle Isle Station at Classen Boulevard and Interstate 44, and will open in fall 2019, according to a press release.

The store will be about 23,000 square feet. The release also states there are about 46,500 REI members in Oklahoma.
“With activities like paddling along the Oklahoma River, to hiking in the Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge, Oklahoma City is an exciting location for the co-op,” said Kristen Engels, REI retail director for the southwest district, in the release.
According to the site plan for Belle Isle Station at Kite Realty, REI will go next to a Five Below and Ross.
According to Google Maps, the location for REI and Five Below is vacant.
