Dallas offers many opportunities for public transportation, making traveling to and from attractions easy during the weekend’s busy traffic.

One of the longest light rail systems in the U.S., Dallas Rapid Area Transit offers efficient transportation through the Dallas area. The rail system has four lines that pass through the downtown area and makes stops at 65 stations in Dallas and surrounding cities.

Green Line: Traveling southbound, the Green Line begins in Carrollton at the North Carrollton/Frankford Station, heading southeast with stops at Bachman and Burbank stations. The route stops at Deep Ellum Station, Pearl/Arts District Station and MLK, Jr. Station, near the south entrance of Fair Park. The Green Line is the only one to stop at Fair Park station just outside the State Fair of Texas. The rail goes southeast toward Mesquite, ending at Buckner Station.

Blue Line: Traveling northbound, the Blue Line begins near the University of North Texas at Dallas. The line has stops at the VA Medical Center and Cedars stations through Oak Cliff. The Blue Line has a stop at the Pearl/Arts District Station and heads northeast, ending in downtown Rowlett.

Red Line: Traveling northbound, the Red Line begins at Westmoreland Station and heads northeast toward downtown Dallas. The rail has stops at Dallas Zoo Station near the zoo, Cedars, West End Station and Pearl/Arts District stations, where it travels to downtown Plano.

Orange Line: Traveling eastbound, the Orange Line begins at the station at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airportand heads southeast through Irving, with stops at Bachman Station, Burbank Station, Market Center Station and Victory Station. The rail heads into downtown Dallas, stopping at West End, Akard and Pearl/Arts District stations and heading north into downtown Plano, ending at Parker Road Station.

Trinity Railway Express

Heading westbound, the Trinity Railway Express travels out of Downtown Dallas, stopping Victory Station and going west into Irving, ending in Fort Worth at Texas and Pacific Station. The railway makes 10 stops, connecting Dallas and Fort Worth.

Bus services are also offered by DART and connect to the Red, Green, Blue and Orange lines, as well as the Trinity Railway, at a variety of stops. Bus schedules can be found on the DART website.

Game Day

On Saturday, DART will operate on a modified schedule, offering additional service for Red and Green lines to accommodate large crowds traveling to the Red River Rivalry. Extra Green Line trains will run between Victory and Lawnview stations beginning approximately three hours prior to the game until approximately three hours after the game, running every five to 10 minutes.

Trinity Railway and DART railway passengers can transfer to the Green Line at various stops, offering easier access to Cotton Bowl Stadium.

Southbound Red, Orange and Blue line passengers can transfer to the Green Line at Pearl/Arts District Station.

Northbound Red and Blue passengers can transfer to the Green Line at Akard Station.

Eastbound Orange Line passengers can transfer to the Green Line at Bachman Station.

Trinity Railway passengers can transfer to the Green Line or a bus at Victory Station.

Day passes are available starting at $6 and may be used until 3 a.m. the following day. Reduced prices are available for seniors 65 and older and people with disabilities. Midday passes, single-ride passes and AM/PM passes are also available. DART passes can be purchased at a DART ticket vending machine and through the Go Pass app for access to the light rail system, the Trinity Railway Express and bus services.
