Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden

Found at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, those spending the weekend in the city can step into the serene beauty of the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden. An opportunity for adults and kids alike to experience the great outdoors, visitors can walk through the scenic garden and attend its many hands-on STEM programs. The garden received the Thea Award for outstanding achievement as a science/discovery garden in 2016 and is a certified wildlife habitat with the National Wildlife Federation.

General admission to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is $22 for adults, $18 for seniors 65 and up and $13 for children 2 through 12. Admission to the Adventure Garden is an extra $3 and parking is $15. The garden is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the garden’s website.

Dallas Zoo

Visitors of the Dallas Zoo can immerse themselves in a world of exotic animals and thrilling exhibits. Home to more than 2,000 animals from around the world, the zoo offers a unique opportunity to connect with wildlife. Founded in 1888, the Dallas Zoo is Texas's oldest and largest zoo.

Admission varies by day, but ranges from $8 to $24 for adults and $8 to $19 for children and seniors. The Dallas Zoo also offers military discounts. The zoo operates daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the zoo’s website

Topgolf 

For seasoned pros and first-time players alike, Topgolf offers a dynamic and fun atmosphere with giant targets, climate-controlled bays and real-time scoring.

The facility is open all day from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday through Sunday, admission is $39 per hour from 9 a.m. to noon, $50 per hour from noon to 5 p.m. and $62 per hour from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Topgolf website.

Frontiers of Flight Museum

Journey through the wonders of aviation at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. Texas’s premier air and space museum features over 35,000 artifacts, including more than 40 aircraft and space vehicles and two flight trainers. From Leonardo da Vinci to the Wright brothers to the spacecraft of the 21st century, this museum is perfect for the family.

Explore the museum from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission for adults is $15 and $10 for visitors ages 3 through 17. Tickets can be purchased upon arrival at the museum.

Children’s Aquarium Dallas

Children’s Aquarium Dallas educates young explorers about the wonders under the sea. Opened in 1936 as the first public aquarium in Texas, it was part of the Texas Centennial Exposition and has been a family tradition for over 85 years. The aquarium has vibrant exhibits featuring colorful fish, playful sea creatures and interactive experiences. 

The aquarium is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Tickets are $13.95 for adults and $9.95 for children ages 3 through 12. Tickets can be purchased at the aquarium’s website.
