Jackie Stiles has been hired as a new assistant coach for the OU women's basketball team.

The Sooners announced the hiring of former Missouri State assistant coach and decorated former player Jackie Stiles, according to a press release from OU Athletics.

Stiles coached at Missouri State — her alma mater — for six seasons, two of which resulted in an NCAA Tournament berth.

“Jackie’s resumé speaks for itself. Not only is she one of the most decorated players to ever play our game, but she is also a rising star in the coaching profession,” head coach Sherri Coale said in a press release. “Jackie has the unique ability to develop student-athletes to the height of their potential on the court, as she knows first-hand the mental and physical commitment that is necessary to excel at this level. We are excited to welcome her to our family, and we know she will make an instant impact on our team and coaching staff.”

In her time as a player for the Bears, Stiles racked up 3,393 career points, which is third all-time in women's college basketball.
