The Sooners have never beaten the Huskies, losing all 10 meetings between the two. UConn is currently coming off their first loss in nearly three years, after winning 111 games straight. The Sooners are coming off a 23-win season and a second round NCAA tournament loss.
The game will feature two of the top women's basketball coaches of all time in Geno Auriemma for UConn and Sherri Coale for Oklahoma.
"The Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Holiday Showcase presents a great opportunity for passionate women's basketball fans to see two elite programs face one another in a fantastic venue,” said Coale in a press release. “Our program has great respect for Connecticut and we look forward to the challenge."
The series will begin on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
