Oklahoma basketball: Trae Young predicted to go No. 1 to No. 7 in 2018 mock NBA Drafts

Despite the Sooners' struggles, freshman guard Trae Young has remained at the top of the NBA Draft boards, being picked to go anywhere from No. 1 to No. 7.

According to ESPN, Young could be taken as the first overall pick by the Memphis Grizzlies. It's not completely unrealistic, considering the kind of ceiling Young has and the future he could give the Grizzlies, but it's definitely an outlier compared to where Young has been placed all season.

Similar to Basketball Insiders' prediction last week, CBS Sports has Young going No. 3 to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He would fit into the more youthful team the Cavs brought in at the trade deadline and would be learning under LeBron James.

The Orlando Magic seems to be a common favorite team for Young to join because of his strong passing and shooting abilities. USA Today Sports projected him to go No. 5 overall, up from Sports Illustrated's prediction at the sixth pick.

This week, Basketball Insiders kept Young at the seventh spot, but going to the Sacramento Kings. Like the Cavs, the Kings are working on a rebuild and could have an elite backcourt with two Sooner 3-point shooters in Young and Buddy Hield.

Young finished the regular season leading the country in points (27.5) and assists (8.9) to become the first player in Division I history to top both categories since assists were introduced as a statistic in 1983.
