Former SAE chef now cooks for other OU fraternity

Howard Dixon

Howard Dixon, the former cook for the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, accepted a position at the Kappa Sigma fraternity as the head chef. Dixon was left without a job following the expulsion of SAE off campus last Spring semester.

The former Sigma Alpha Epsilon house chef, who lost his job after the fraternity was disbanded and kicked off of campus, is now working as the head chef for the Kappa Sigma fraternity.

After SAE was banned from OU in spring when a video showing members singing a racist chant surfaced, Howard Dixon no longer had a position as the house's cook.

He really wanted to stay involved in greek life, Kappa Sigma President Zach Haley said. He said the members heard he was a great chef and that he wanted to hire a great chef to go with the new house.

The fraternity decided to give Dixon the job in early June, Haley said.

Kappa Sigma member Erick Payne, a broadcast journalism junior, said Dixon has done a really fantastic job as the house chef thus far. Rather than stay in the kitchen and cook all day, Payne said Dixon gets out and gets involved with the members.
