The Daily has received the Title IX intake summary that was filed in November 2018 describing an OU graduate’s allegations of sexual misconduct against former OU president David Boren.
It is unclear who filed the summary, but it details what Jess Eddy told an employee regarding his relationship with Boren. Eddy told The Daily the summary was given to him by Boren's lawyer Clark Brewster, and gave it to media outlets present at today's special meeting of the Board of Regents.
According to the summary, Eddy alleged Boren had a pattern of having “relationships” with students, and members of Boren’s “inner circle” would identify and arrange for Boren to have sexual relationships with students.
“(Jess) reported he personally experienced this behavior, he allegedly was at an event and he was introduced to DLB by an unnamed individual who took him to a hotel room where DLB was waiting,” the summary reads. “(Jess) reported that (DLB) came on to him but that he rejected this advance but that he remained close with DLB and considered himself a member of the inner circle.”
The names of Boren’s “inner circle” were redacted from the document, but it says they all knew about the inappropriate behavior and some were in their own sexual relationships with Boren.
“(Jess) suggested that these individuals...were appointed to elevated administrative positions based on these relationships and their silence regarding this behavior,” the report reads.
It also says those in the “inner circle” were given compensation for their silence.
The report says that Eddy would have told the employee in the spring of 2018, but he confirmed to The Daily that he related these allegations to the employee in the summer and fall of 2017.
