John Laing, 48, an instrument technician in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, passed away in his sleep Friday morning.Laing was born in Clarement, Calif.A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Laing attended Chaffee Junior College and Riverside College in California and Texas Tech University.After working with Dr. Richard Taylor as a lab technician in 1978, Laing earned his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry at OU in 1985.Laing enjoyed computers and reading science fiction.A 14-year employee of the university, he will be missed by friends, faculty, staff and students.hello there & you too
