Oklahoma softball’s in-state rivalry will outlive its departure from the Big 12.

With OU moving to the SEC on July 1, many programs, including football and basketball, have questioned if Bedlam would continue.

Oklahoma head coach Patty Gasso confirmed on Tuesday that Bedlam will be played next season at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. The date of the game is to be decided.

“Our sport administrator reached out to theirs and we came up with a mutual date," Gasso said. "I don’t know when it is, but the plan is to play at the Hall of Fame Stadium. There’s been rumblings I don’t know about, except I do know we reached out to them and it sounds like it’s happening,”

The Sooners and Cowgirls meet this weekend in the final regular season series of the year. This is the last time the two teams meet as mutual members of the Big 12, OU leads the all-time series 103-72.

The matchup will start at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at Love’s Field in Norman on FS1.
