Oklahoma (6-0) climbed to No. 25 in the AP Top 25 Poll for the first time of the 2023 season on Monday morning after winning its sixth consecutive game against USC (4-2).

This is the first time that the Sooners have been ranked in the top 25 under head coach Porter Moser.

The buzzer-beater victory over USC was OU’s first ranked victory of the 2023-24 season, which clinched the Rady Children’s Invitational title last Friday. The Sooners’ biggest win last season was against then-No. 2 Alabama, where they won 93-69 on Jan. 28 at the Lloyd Noble Center.

Sophomore guard Otega Oweh is leading the Sooners this season. Oweh is averaging 15 points, 24 minutes, 4.8 rebounds and 2.3 steals a game. Alongside Oweh, junior guard Javian McCollum and redshirt junior forward John Hugley IV have both made consistent contributions. McCollum is averaging 13.3 points per game, and Hugley, who is averaging nine points per game, is shooting 72.7% from the floor.

Next, OU will face Arkansas Pine Bluff (3-4) at 7 p.m. on Nov. 30 at McCasland Field House for a students-only game in Norman on ESPN+.
