* WHAT...For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 108 expected.
For the Extreme Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions with heat
index values up to 114 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, northern, northwest, and
southeast Oklahoma.

* WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, until 8 PM CDT this evening. For the
Extreme Heat Warning, from noon to 8 PM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high
humidity may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

OU football announces six new front office hires

The OU Athletics Department announced Monday the addition of six football front office hires set to join general manager Jim Nagy’s staff, pending approval from the OU Board of Regents this week.

Since taking over as the general manager in February, Nagy has assembled a loaded front office in charge of managing and building OU’s roster as it shifts towards a more professionalized model of college football.

The six new hires include:

- Lake Dawson, senior assistant general manager

- Taylor Redd, assistant general manager

- Drew Hill, director of scouting

- Kale Pearson, director of high school scouting

- Stacey Ford, director of player personnel and retainment

- Charlie Parkinson, assistant director of college scouting

Lake Dawson, senior assistant general manager

Dawson has spent the last 25 years working in the NFL in various scouting and front office roles. Dawson also spent six years in the NFL as a wide receiver with Kansas City and the Indianapolis Colts.

Taylor Redd, assistant general manager

Redd most recently served as a senior consultant with The Athlete Group and also spent six years in the scouting department for the New England Patriots.

Drew Hill, director of scouting

Hill will be entering his 12th season at OU. Hill has spent 11 years as the Sooners’ director of player personnel and will step into his first season as the director of scouting this year.

Kale Pearson, director of high school scouting

Pearson spent the last three years at the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he served as the football general manager, running the recruiting department and serving as the NFL liaison.

Stacey Ford, director of player personnel and retainment

Ford spent last year at UCLA as the director of player personnel and also served as the director of recruiting at Washington State for two years prior.

Charlie Parkinson, assistant director of college scouting

Parkison most recently served as a scouting assistant for the Reece’s Senior Bowl. Prior to that, he spent three years with The 33rd Team, a football think tank, where he worked as a scout, content creator and talent assistant. 

Following approval from the OU Board of Regents, the new staff will look to make an immediate impact in the Sooners' front office.
