It was just another day at the park for coach Patty Gasso's group.
Oklahoma was tasked with a re-match against the SEC's Ole Miss, who threatened late to try to force an extra game in the Norman Regional final.
The Rebels trailed by three runs in the bottom of the seventh and put runners on first and second with catcher Courtney Syrett at the plate.
She popped up to third, however, which ended Ole Miss' historic season with the game's final out and secured Oklahoma's berth to the NCAA Super Regionals.
A team like Ole Miss with no prior NCAA tournament experience before 2016 might've been more ecstatic, more excited, to finish off the long weekend with an undefeated mark in regional play and a trip to the round of 16 teams.
No. 3 Oklahoma did not show the emotion of a team sharpied in to the second weekend of the tournament, however, as they've made it to now seven consecutive Super Regionals and won 25 consecutive games.
"I think it's pretty cool that they don't celebrate as if they just won the national championship, because this is an expectation for them now," Gasso said in her post-game presser. "You might see them celebrate next weekend if we can pull that off. It's just a different mindset truly.
"One of our phrases is 'championship mindset.' That's what they have on their mind is win championships."
The Rebels, who end the season with a 41-22 record, were run-ruled, 9-1, by Oklahoma Saturday afternoon and forced to play a second game later in the evening to get to Sunday's regional final.
All Oklahoma needed was one win, however, and they got it behind an excellent day from their sophomore ace Paige Parker.
"She threw 83 pitches, which is relatively low, and 61 of those were strikes," Gasso said. "I don't think she let a lead-off batter on base, which is really critical. It's one of the best games I've seen her throw. She's really been throwing well, but she was in complete control today."
Parker (31-3) finished with nine strikeouts and allowed four hits in the 3-0 win.
The Sooners got off to quick starts in their first two games of the weekend, but Ole Miss pitcher Madi Osias kept OU scoreless for four innings.
Oklahoma never lost its fight, however, and picked up its first run in the fifth inning.
"I knew we were going to come around, it just took us a little bit," freshman Shay Knighten said. "But we're not going to go down without a fight. (Osias) would have to beat us, even on her best day, she's going to have beat us on our worst. I just knew if I kept putting the ball in play, my team would figure it out."
It was senior Erin Miller who drove in pinch runner Raegan Rogers via an RBI single and advanced to second on the throw. She drove in the team's third run as well in the seventh frame.
Oklahoma's late scores and Parker's pitching helped them avoid an elimination game Sunday evening. And they are now just one weekend away from a trip to the Women's College World Series.
