Oklahoma junior forward John Hugley IV entered the NCAA transfer portal on Friday afternoon, according to a report from On3's Joe Tipton.

In one season with the Sooners, Hugley IV averaged 8.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, while shooting 59.4% from the field and 39.4% from 3-point range. The Cleveland, Ohio, native missed the final eight games of the regular season after undergoing meniscus surgery.

He is the second player to enter the transfer portal this offseason after sophomore guard Otega Oweh announced his exit from the Sooners on Monday. Seniors Le’Tre Darthard, Maks Klanjseck and Rivaldo Soares are all out of eligibility following OU’s second round loss in the Big 12 Tournament. Senior forward Sam Godwin has one year of eligibility remaining due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Four-star forward Kuol Atak and three-star guard Dayton Forsythe from are the only commitments to head coach Porter Moser in the 2024 recruiting class.

In its third season under Moser, OU ended the season 20-12 — losing four out of its last five games — and missed the NCAA Tournament for the third season in a row.
