Republican Tom Cole and Democrat Mary Brannon advanced in voting Tuesday for the U.S. House of Representatives’ District 4 seat, moving on to the Nov. 5 general election.
According to unofficial results from the Oklahoma State Election Board as of 8:23 p.m. Tuesday with 86.70% of precincts reporting, of the 54,343 total Republican votes cast, 35,287 voters, or 64.93%, favored Cole. Of the 12,358 total Democratic votes cast, 7,470 voters, or 60.45% favored Brannon.
Voting among other Republican candidates in the field stands as follows:
Paul Bondar: 13,871 votes | 25.52%
Andrew Hayes: 2,187 votes | 4.02%
Rick Whitebear Harris: 1,907 votes | 3.51%
Nick Hankins: 1,091 votes | 2.1%
In the Democratic field, Kody Macaulay secured 4,888 votes, or 39.55% of those cast vs. Brannon.
Cole has been a Republican member of the House since 2003, when he was first elected as District 4’s representative.
