OU is remembering journalist Anthony Shadid as one if its "most outstanding former students."
The Oklahoma City native and Pulitzer Prize winner died Thursday of an apparent asthma attack while reporting in Syria. Shadid was scheduled to receive an honorary degree at OU's commencement ceremony in May, OU President David Boren announced in a statement.
The university will present the degree posthumously, Boren said.
