An OU fraternity will hold a candlelight vigil next week in honor of a member who died over winter break.

According to its Facebook page, Kappa Sigma will host a vigil at 8 p.m. Feb. 6 at its 1100 College Ave. house in honor of Sean Tucker, a business freshman who died in a car accident Dec. 15, 2017.

Kappa Sigma president Kyle Morely said Tucker’s loss has been hard on the fraternity.

“It’s hard to explain — he was only here for a semester, and he impacted so many people in such a big way,” Morely said.

Logan Beshires, an energy management sophomore, was a friend of Tucker’s who said the two became close last semester.

“Without a doubt, one of my best friends,” Beshires said. “I met him in August, and ever since then we just clicked. I didn’t really spend any days without seeing Sean.”

Beshires said one of his favorite memories with Tucker was a camping trip that ended in Tucker wearing mismatched shoes all day. Beshires said Tucker was “one of the funniest guys you would’ve ever met,” and that he was dedicated to the fraternity and to everything he did.

“He just liked to have fun and was a very big team player,” Beshires said. “He will forever be missed by me.”

The entire Greek and OU community is encouraged to attend the vigil and show support, according to the fraternity’s Facebook page.
