The Norman Police Department detained a suspect in relation to a reported shooting at the 1800 block of Twisted Oak Drive Friday afternoon.
According to a press release, officers found a 52-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to an area hospital where he later died.
Responding officers were given a description of the shooter who fled the scene after the shooting.
In response to the shooting, NPD secured a perimeter around both Kennedy and Reagan Elementary schools near the location of the shooting.
The suspect was found at the 1300 block of East Lindsey Street and was later identified as 31-year-old Timothy Daniel Moseley. NPD later detained and arrested Moseley.
The initial NPD investigation determined the victim and the suspect were in a verbal disagreement before the shooting.
Moseley is now in the Cleveland County Detention Center on a complaint of first-degree murder and two complaints of possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.
The incident is still under investigation.
