Student Media interior entrance
Updated
Student Media's main entrance from inside Copeland Hall. The building, which opened in 1958, was named for Fayette Copeland, who was on the Oklahoma Daily staff when it was founded in 1916. Copeland went on to serve the university in various media-related roles for decades. The fully remodeled Student Media reopened in fall 2021, encompassing all operations of the department, which previously spread throughout various parts of the building's first floor.
Student Media east entrance
Updated
The east exterior entrance, which opens directly into the newsroom, has new branding that makes our logo visible from the South Oval as students pass on their way to and from classes. It also, as do our other exterior doors, has swipe-card access for students' OU IDs to allow them to come and go from the secure room as they wish 24/7. The awning is updated to reflect our growing mission of serving the city of Norman in addition to the campus as a trusted source of news. (No, the golf cart is not ours.)
