Science Museum Oklahoma will facilitate a new annual event called Tinkerfest Saturday, Sept. 30. Tinkerfest will be a daylong event with a variety of activities including beginner’s carpentry, board game design, candle making, foil sculpting and plastic fusion, in addition to a gravity well, zip lines, upcycled birdhouses and much more.
Tinkering is a mode of learning where both adults and children can learn and “tinker” together. After years of visiting other Tinkerfests across the nation, those at Science Museum Oklahoma are excited to finally be able to host their own.
“Tinkering is going to the end of your understanding and pushing to learn more,” said Lindsay Thomas, the communications director of Science Museum Oklahoma.
Tinkerfest will be held at Science Museum Oklahoma, 2020 Remington Place, Oklahoma City, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30. All activities are free but will require a wristband from the museum's main office. Parking will be available at the museum and Remington Park.
