As students arrive back in Norman after the summer break, OU has plenty of new restaurants to check out after classes.
The Winston is a pub-style restaurant located at 106 W. Main St. The restaurant serves modern takes on classic meals, such as chipotle meatloaf, and also has a large whiskey selection. It is open for both lunch and dinner and serves flatbreads, salads, burgers and sandwiches. The Winston is open from 11 a.m. to midnight on weekdays, 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays.
Neighborhood JAM is a brunch-style restaurant located at 102 W. Main St. The restaurant serves classic breakfast and lunch foods like omelets or pancakes, sandwiches and cheeseburgers. They also serve items like pineapple bourbon pancakes and quinoa power bowls. Neighborhood JAM is open every day from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Othello’s Italian Restaurant hopes to reopen its Norman location by the end of August. The restaurant was forced to close after it caught on fire in April 2017, according to the restaurant’s website. Othello’s serves various salads, pastas and breads. Othello’s is located at 434 Buchanan Ave. and will be open from 4 to 10 p.m.
Land Run Grill & Wine Bar is located at 1400 12th Ave. SE. and serves burgers, wings and sandwiches. It also has a large selection of wine. The restaurant has an outdoor patio and plenty of bar seating, according to the restaurant's website.
Despite these new additions, some restaurants in the Norman area have closed their doors this past year: Which Wich, which closed earlier this year, has been replaced by Chase Bank, formerly located on Eufaula. Cate Restaurants on OU’s campus has also been closed.
