Oklahoma Softball: Three-finger celebration

Sooners celebrate, holding up three fingers from their dugout June 4. Oklahoma beat Oregon 4-2 to advance to the national championship, starting 6 p.m. June 5.

USA Softball announced the 2018 Women's National Teams Saturday, and Oklahoma is represented on the roster and the coaching staff.

Five Sooners, both current and former, tried out for the teams after nine were invited to do so at a selection camp in Clearwater, Florida, this past week. Former Oklahoma pitcher Keilani Ricketts was the only one to make the team. The Sooners' volunteer assistant coach Janie Reed, an Oregon graduate, was also selected as an outfielder.

Ricketts and Reed were both named to the 2018 World Championship roster and will play in the World Cup of Softball and 2016 World Baseball Softball Confederation Women's World Championships.

Oklahoma coach Patty Gasso has also been named a head coach for the 2018 National Teams. She will lead a second national team at the World Cup of Softball.
