Why is taking pictures of snow worthy of being deemed influential on campus? Not to detract from Mr. Marsh's efforts, but in terms of campus influence, his credentials seem meaningless however unusual or fascinating they might be.
Furthermore, I think that while Chris Applegate has done a lot (and not to detract at all from his contributions) the green initiatives at OU can't be mentioned without Brandon Mikael who has worked very closely with Chris and was in charge of this year's Green Week.
Also, if you were to select someone from UOSA (which for what it's worth, TonyRomo, is only one of the six), you should feature Brett Stidham. Brett is the newly-elected chair of student congress, and also has been the UOSA budget chair for the last two years. This means that for the last two years, Brett has been in charge of handling over $600,000 in student fee money, doles out funds to the over 400 student organizations at OU, and has been perhaps one of the most influential people when it comes to how all of the other organizations function.

Does anyone else find it funny that Franz and Cory "won" this election with less total votes than Ally and Zac did the first election? If 2246 voted for Ally and Zac the first time around, and only 2065 voted for Franz and Cory this time, is there not irony in the fact that they won this time with a smaller number of votes than even they got last time?

alh12, I think you give this bilge too much credit when you call it journalism. The fact that everyone hates it should say something. It'd be different if, say, one side of any given issue was anti-Daily, but all parties seem to be unified in their common disgust at this waste of our student funds. Pro-UOSA, anti-UOSA, ambivalent, pro-life, pro-choice, pro-whatever, nobody likes this human waste heap of a publication. If was a candidate running next year, part of my platform would be to cut the funding for this atrocity and start from scratch.

Get off it Joe. There are some of us both watch sports AND read. We are not all defined by your convenient little boxes you like to put us in. I watch a thunder game, and then afterwards I finish my book. I go to arts festivals AND football games. Maybe if you broke out of your shell a bit you'd see that there's a world outside your cocoon of self-gratifying pretension and that maybe you're not better than everyone else, but just different. I always find it hypocritical that those who argue there's a better way to live are the same ones who argue that people should be more open-minded. Maybe you should be a bit more open-minded too Joe.

this is a very insensitive article to run during passover.

I find it funny that the daily refuses to endorse a candidate because they feel that as the lone voice of judgment on the matter, it would be unfair to skew public opinion in such a manner because of the daily's position, but yet the editorial board can get together and publish an article that outright condemns UOSA entirely. do you all not see the ridiculous hypocrisy here?

so the gist of your article is that you feel it's a show, even though you didn't get to see it? why is this worthy of the opinion column when you heard nothing about which to form an opinion?

the vote was 23 to 13. If it was 28-13, the override would have passed as it would have been greater than 2/3 majority.

As someone who is a recent OU grad and is currently doing Teach for America, I can tell you that soonerboomers has no idea what he's talking about.
