This is bad journalism, as the OU Daily has been all year. I have written numerous comments about the poor decision making of the OU Daily editorial staff, yet it has fallen on deaf (or ignorant) ears. Judy Robinson really needs to round up these unprofessional kiddos and get them back on track for news reporting. It is ridiculous that the OU Daily takes a story from the News Gathering class that needs so much fluffing that they assign a reporter to it. Can't Ricky come up with and write his own stories? What happened to real investigative journalism? I'm sick of seeing the OU Daily act like lazy, biased, unprofessional writers.

Perhaps some fact checking and using sources other than students would have been a good idea. Maybe a reporter (or editor, what were they thinking letting this one run?) should have asked the police for a statement.

The reality is Inhofe was delusional about the cannon to begin with. He knew all along that the Dept of Defense planned to test the cannon and use it for training in Fort Hood, TX rather than Fort Sill, OK.

I agree. This is lazy journalism, The Daily's specialty. What's the point of this article?
