The photo caption says "Oklahoma Memorial Union" when the concert clearly wasn't held there. Just saying.

"If you want to complain because you were too stupid to get in UT (which as an Oklahoman I did but couldn't afford out of state) or A&M don't complain about tuition. Oklahoman should not subsidize the cost of TEXANS."-NormanNow
To whom it may concern: I'm from Houston, TX and I graduated in the top 15% of my high school class. I was involved in NHS, band, and UIL, among many other things. I DID get accepted into A&M (and got scholarships), and I most likely would have gotten into ut if I would have considered applying there. You can say as much crap as you want about Texans not paying enough out-of-state tuition, but you don't have the right to say that Texans go to OU because they're not smart enough to get into A&M or ut. I know plenty of Texans who got accepted to those schools and still came to OU, myself included. Oh, and also, Texan alumni give back to the University BIG TIME; you'd better put your money where your mouth is.

Well, I'm sure as hell not going to pay for extra security in the stadium if beer is sold.

Mr. Bruenig,
The reason why Prop 3 was not passed primarily because there was so much going on in its wording that people (who took the time to read it, anyway) did not agree on. Let's review what Prop 3 requested:
-Would place uncontested UOSA official to be placed on the ballot with the language: “Shall (candidate’s name) be elected as (representative/office position)”
-Places wording in the constitution that states UOSA may not impose ……….
-Restricts joint resolutions from becoming for effective before 90 days of passage
-Academic standing would be the only requirement for elective office
-UOSA President and Vice President would run on separate tickets in election
-Remove the current run-off system for UOSA President to be replaced by an automatic runoff
-Student Advisory Board would become an elected position
-Defines the number of signatures required for initiatives, recalls, referendums to 8%, and early elections to 12%, and constitutional amendments to 15% of students who voted in the last general election.
-Requires amendments are “reasonable publicized” three weeks in advance
My biggest issue with this proposition was the fact that the president and VP would run on separate ballots. Uh, what? That just doesn't make sense to me; if in a parallel universe Franz were elected president and Ally VP, do you think they would work cohesively for UOSA? No, because they don't share the same ideas.
So there you have it. That's my reason for voting No on Prop 3.

"Ally and Zac did not lose because they were less deserving. Ally and Zac lost because people are too immature to uphold what is right and are too easily swayed by the voices that they believe to epitomize their values, such as newspapers and the UOSA courts."
Hey cardsfan918, what was so "right" about an election sytem based on rankings? When we voted for president last year, were we allowed to rank Obama first and McCain second? No, we could only choose ONE candidate and that's it. That's how it should be. But hey, thanks for your concern in UOSA and the University of Oklahoma, one of the nation's top schools. Obviously you care enough about UOSA to complain about it. Neither this nor any other election will change the fact that we are an elite school, no matter how you want to twist my words.
That being said, congratulations Franz and Cory! We hold you accountable for every campaign promise you made; go out there and prove you're capable of setting things right!

"I'm going to assume that one of the main reasons that Franz and Cory won by a mere 160 votes is because your newspaper published an untimely, biased and inaccurate article on the front page on the last day of the runoff election."
Hey alh12, I'm pretty sure that if the premise you hold were true, the margin of victory would be much larger than it is. It's perfectly okay to lose, just don't whine about it. The election is over, get over it.
Congrats Franz and Cory!

Uh yeah, my Big Event location was in OKC and my group worked with a sorority...they did not want to do anything and left before we were finished.

Here's what I am aware of. I'm aware that I have not seen a Census form in my mail in the residence halls yet.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but can we please stop calling out houses by name? This is coming from someone who is not part of the Greek community. This university has to come together, Greeks and non-Greeks, and figure this thing out.
